Choosing the right smartphone

Smartphone manufacturers are constantly outdoing each other with new, innovative models, and consumers often lose track. Therefore, important criteria should be decided before buying a smartphone. This raises the question, for example, do I need the device for private or professional purposes?

Test before buying:

A smartphone should never be bought blindly, so it is absolutely advisable to try it out first. This allows you to test not only the performance but also the Wi-Fi capability and the touchscreen. In addition to usability, the display size also plays a decisive role, as surfing the Internet on small screens is often very difficult.

Smartphone models can be purchased not only in specialist shops and online, so buying an HTC-HD2 from Quoka classifieds, for example, can also be a very interesting option. But when choosing the right smartphone, there are a few questions that need to be answered.

Which operating system?

In order to make the right decision for a smartphone, you should take a look at the right operating system, as this determines the operating concept and additional extensions. The most common systems are iOS, Android, Symbian and Windows Phone 7. Since each system has strengths and weaknesses, it is absolutely necessary to take a closer look. iOS and Windows Phone, for example, are closed systems, while Android gives the user complete freedom, but this makes the system much more susceptible to Trojans and viruses. Experts assume, however, that the number of mobile operating systems will thin out in the next few years, so that in the end there will perhaps be only two or three left.

Fast processor:

A crucial criterion for a smartphone is the built-in processor, as this determines the working speed. It should be well clocked, as in current HTC models, for example. The processor should have at least one gigahertz, which guarantees fast operation. Furthermore, you should look at personal criteria; for example, if you want to take photos a lot, you can choose a model with a high-quality camera. Since these have improved significantly in recent years, some devices can easily keep up with a digital camera.
